Echo of Humanity

Echo of Humanity – A time-asynchronous jam session between Kaiboard (Germany) and John Wegner (Australia). It all started when Kai saw a video of a drone flying over the destroyed city of Aleppo and discussed this with me. We both felt this loneliness and desperation of the people there. Two years ago we did the ‘Throw Me Away‘ project ( http://fandalism.com/allomerus/dqSe ) which addressed a similar topic, so we had a common understanding. Then the idea of a virtual jam session came up with music that expresses the loneliness, the sadness but also with a glimpse of hope and humanity. We started with Kai creating some powerful live music on the keys (mainly using analog synthesizers and sequencers) and then I added the guitar, also playing live. So, it was like a live session but not played at the same time. Both of us were alone but we made some music together overcoming thousands of kilometers, different languages and cultures, expressing a common view on the world. And it felt good!

Hulk Joke Jail Plan

Hulk Joke Jail Plan.

A co-creation with our (musical) brother Kaiboard, and featuring the bass genius Kjell Johansson. Hulk Joke Jail Plan is an anagram of Kai, John, Paul and Kjell. All the ‘lyrics’  are also anagrams of our names.

Paul Wegner: Drums

Kaiboard: Keyboards, Audio

John Wegner: Guitar, Guitar Synth, Voice, Video

Kjell Johansson: Bass

Hulk Joke Jail Plan is a track with an interesting background. It started off with Paul doing a drum track to a song he knew. We asked him not to tell us what it was. Then Kai and I set about putting music to it. It has been a fun experiment building up the music, especially the middle section which stops and starts all over the place!!!! Although it has taken a while to get to this point. When Kai suggested we ask Kjell to play bass I jumped at the opportunity and he added his magic ( a lot quicker than the rest of it). Anyway, it’s awesome to finally get to the point where we can share it with you!

Video for ‘A Normal Life’.

This video features some sculptures from Bruno’s Sculpture Garden in Marysville, Victoria. If you can, we highly recommend a visit to see the gardens first hand and to see Bruno’s quirky sculptures in all their glory!

The Time lapses are from locations in Melbourne Australia.

This is a repost of this song, only this time with a video. I couldn’t resist adding Bruno’s amazing work as they compliment the sentiment of the video perfectly!
